How did we ensure 24/7 data platform continuity at IGI?

History

IGI is a global insurance company in the Middle East, specializing in providing specialized insurance and reinsurance solutions for complex risks. As a multinational insurance company, it bases its collaboration with clients on advanced data analytics and product personalization, using Microsoft technologies.

Aiming to ensure 24/7 business continuity and better monitoring and threat management, IGI partnered with Onex Group to properly prepare its cloud infrastructure for the challenges the company faced.

What goals have we covered?

IGI faced many challenges that required a quick and effective response. To achieve this, we covered the following objectives:

Maintaining continuous access

to an analytics platform that is critical to the company's operations, especially when providing insurance on a 24/7 basis.

Security incident monitoring

and reducing response times to potential threats to enhance asset and data protection.

Improving Security Score index

which measures the overall security level of IT infrastructure, in order to better secure the company's systems.

Smooth migration to the cloud

and optimization of IT management costs, which allowed for independence from local resources and better scalability of systems.

How have we responded to IGI's needs?

The implementation of the project was divided into key phases that addressed IGI’s needs and enhanced the reliability and security of the company’s infrastructure.

Proof of Concept for Disaster Recovery

We began our collaboration by prototyping a state-of-the-art Disaster Recovery solution, including key components such as Azure Synapse, Power BI, Data Factory and Reporting Services, running locally.

Expanding cooperation

After the successful implementation of the core solutions, we expanded the project to other areas of infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, addressing the need for seamless integration and cloud management.

Microsoft Sentinel implementation

The next phase of the cooperation included IGI's support in the implementation of the Microsoft Sentinel solution, which allowed central monitoring of security in the organization, reducing response time to threats and enabling full visibility into the state of security.

Cooperation in the Managed Services model

Following the implementation of key tools, we have partnered with IGI in a Managed Services model, which allows them to provide regular support in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and further optimize IT costs.

Undoubtedly, the pivotal role of analytics in the insurance industry has generated the need for accessible data and analytics platforms. Onex Group’s team created a proprietary solution that covers the full range of analytics platform covering both on-premise and cloud environments with automation. Providing the client with continuous access to analytics and data was a top priority for us.
